Scratch-Made Breakfast Worth Sitting Down For

Scratch-Made Breakfast Worth Sitting Down For

Our house-made corned beef hash is a six-hour labor of love. Pair it with thick, fluffy pancakes, especially good with blueberries. For another comforting favorite, try the Big Hug: homemade sausage gravy over two biscuits, topped with two eggs. Make breakfast your own with a three-egg omelette, or go hearty with the Mountain Man: a four-egg omelette filled with steak, peppers, onions, mushrooms and cheese, served with home fries and toast. Smaller appetites can enjoy the Little Hug, a breakfast sandwich, or pancake and French toast bites from our Little Hungry menu. Breakfast is available all day.
A Hearty Breakfast Before Your Shift

A Hearty Breakfast Before Your Shift

Heading to work? We open at 6 AM! Grab a breakfast sandwich with a two-egg omelette tucked between toasted bread and take it with you. If you have a little time, eat with us. Try an omelette - we cook the fillings in the pan first, then fold them into the eggs so you get all that flavor in every bite.
Covered bridges in Western Massachusetts

Covered bridges in Western Massachusetts

If you enjoy historic covered bridges, add the Eunice Williams Covered Bridge to your Western Massachusetts itinerary. Located in the town of Greenfield, the bridge offers a quiet, scenic stop that pairs well with a day of exploring Franklin County. The bridge crosses the Green River and is named for Eunice Williams, a local woman whose story is connected to the area’s colonial history. The current covered bridge dates to the nineteenth century and reflects the traditional timber construction used to protect wooden bridge components from weather. The Eunice Williams Covered Bridge is best appreciated as a short sightseeing stop rather than a major destination. Take time to look at the bridge’s wooden framing, surrounding fields, and river landscape. It can be especially appealing in autumn, when the hills and trees around the bridge add color to the view. Because the bridge is located on a public road, use care when stopping nearby. Pull completely off the roadway where permitted, watch for traffic, and avoid blocking the bridge or nearby driveways. Conditions and access can change with weather, construction, or seasonal road restrictions, so check local information before making a special trip. The bridge also makes a natural addition to a broader Greenfield outing. Visit Poet’s Seat Tower and Rocky Mountain Park, browse downtown shops, stop for coffee or lunch, or spend time along the Green River before or after your visit. If you are planning a covered-bridge tour, continue exploring other historic bridges in Franklin County and the surrounding hill towns. Location: Greenfield, MA, near the Green River

North Shore Flavor, Right Here in Greenfield

North Shore Flavor, Right Here in Greenfield

Skip the trip to the North Shore and try our North Shore 3-Way. We shave prime rib paper thin and layer it on a grilled onion roll with James River barbecue sauce, mayonnaise, and a slice of cheese. It's a little taste of a Massachusetts favorite, close to home. Lunch starts at 10:30 AM. Try the Greenfield Reuben with homemade corned beef hash, local organic garlic kraut, Swiss and Thousand Island dressing on grilled rye, or the Liberty Steak Melt with peppers, onions and mushrooms. You'll also find the Freedom BLT, All-American Burger and white cheddar mac and cheese. Breakfast is available all day. Visit Monday through Saturday, 6 AM to 2 PM. Seating is first come, first served, with reservations available for parties of 6–8.

This just might be the best breakfast spot in Massachusetts. My man Jason is absolutely surgical on the grill. Omelette was incredible, even the toast I guarantee is a huge step up from your last breakfast spot. But the pancakes…Good Lord, the pancakes changed my life! What is the secret ingredient that gives them that flavor?! Masslive should feature Freedom Cafe. The food is that good. Almost as good as freedom🇺🇸🫡Thank you Jason and Crissy

Nana and I found our new favorite breakfast spot! We were surprised that there was a wait at the door, but after eating there we know why! The best homemade hash and most delicious pancakes I’ve ever had! Sausage patties and coffee were also amazing—we both cleaned our plates and can’t wait to go back! Generous portions and outstanding service!

I’ve never left a review in my life but this was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The food was great with massive portions, the service immaculate, and the vibe was perfect. The best part was the riddles/card games they have at every table. It encouraged a lot of conversation with my son (which is an achievement!) who ate a heroic amount of biscuits and gravy

Jason and Chrissy have made many changes to the Cafe. Jason’s added items to the menu. The Harvest wrap is delicious. His pancakes and waffles are very tasty with the secret ingredient. The place is packed much of the morning. But everyone gets seated in less than 10 minutes. If you haven’t been to Freedom Cafe recently, treat yourself to this wonderful breakfast and lunch place. This is my favorite breakfast.

There is not enough words to describe how great this place is! Easily the best corn beef hash EVER! Home made with love and perfection. The wait staff was wonderfully attentive. They made us feel like we were the only ones in the cafe even though it was full. Our table has some breakfast food and some lunch food, both were great. The atmosphere in the cafe was simple with an American flare. Everyone was so friendly. We were actually attempting to go to but was closed, so we stumbled upon…
